People like music. It is probably a fair statement to say that you enjoy listening to your favorite bands on your computer and iPod. You go to concerts occasionally, perhaps, and you also like to sing when no one is listening.
But what makes a person go from someone who enjoys music - to a musician? There is much speculation about music and musicians. I will leave techniques and theories to the scientists and researchers for now. Although I find it fascinating, not everyone has time to read countless articles.
The goal of this page is to build music appreciation and encourage the development of musicians. As a piano and voice teacher, I am surrounded by sounds and songs. Much of my development as a musician has come from teaching, and learning from mistakes I have made throughout the years. I am planning to convey tips based on my knowledge background, so that you can grow as a musician too!
You potentially will come away from reading here with practical advice that you can understand and apply. I do not claim to be to a musicologist or professional. I am still learning and growing along with you, so feel free to tell me your own opinions and feedback to develop and refine the thoughts.
